Holiday Events Guide 2012

I know, I know.  This is SUPER late, but there are still so many fun events for the holiday season.  It's tough to try to fit a vacation into Christmas time.  Nothing gets done.

 

FREE swim lessons over winter break.

This message from www.PortlandOnline.com...   Take a winter swim with Portland Parks & Recreation - Swimming isn't just for summer. Head over to the pool during your child's winter break! Portland Parks & Recreation is offering free swim lessons to children and adults from December 17 - 20. Instructors will teach and improve your child’s swimming and water safety skills. All of PP&R lifeguards are certified by Ellis & Associates. Registration is required for all classes which begin at 9 am, 9:35 am, 10:10 am, and 10:45 am. Also during the winter break, five of the PP&R pools will be offering extended Open Play Swim Monday through Friday. For registration, more information and a complete schedule, call PP&R’s East Portland Community Center at (503) 823-3450.

Christmas Trees for Poppy

I just saw this great story on the Channel 8 News.  This sweet little baby girl was born with fused fingers and toes, along with other skeletal problems.  The family is trying to raise $60,000 for a surgery that is not covered by insurance.  They are selling Christmas Trees outside their Milwaukie home.  Get your tree and help a family, it doesn't get much better than that at Christmas time!

The All American Magic Theater is back after a sold out Grand Opening. Portland's newest venue will present The All American Magic Show on Saturday November 17th at 2pm. The theater is located in Mall 205 at 9994 SE Washington Street.

" The All American Magic Show" stars Illusionist Mark Benthimer, who's credits include performances at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts as well as casinos nationwide. Mark has also shared the stage with Blues Traveler, Sammy Hagar, and many more.
