Hey Free Comic Book Day fans, we're back with a new newsletter. This Newsletter is all about the comics. There are 52 different comics being offered at this year's Free Comic Book Day celebrations. Most of the comics have a preview available so you can sample the comic before picking it up on Saturday.
Q. How many free comics can I get on Saturday?
A. It all depends on the individual comic shop. All particpating FCBD Retailers pay a nominal fee to purchase their FCBD "free" comics, and every shop has a different policy depending on how many comics they ordered and how many people they expect at their event. Call ahead of time and find out before you go.

It's Almost Spring Break!!
The kids are rejoicing, and you are wondering what to do.The Spring Break page has been updated and there are TONS of events happening that are on the Calendar of Events page as well.
Don't forget that the Spring Break page includes an Easter Egg Hunt guide. It certainly isn't all of the hunts in the area, but in is the yearly hunts that are very organized and popular.
And if none of those events are just what you are looking for, don't forget that the Anytime Ideas, and Ongoing Events pages always have ideas for everyday.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!
We went and saw this movie this weekend and it is AMAZING!!! You have to see it in 3D, that means you can't wait to watch it on DVD. If you don't want to pay the crazy prices, remember that the Milwaukie Cinemas has a 3D projector and will probably be showing it for $4 in the next few months.
mom.me has a great review of the movie. I did think that it could be a little scary for younger kids, but nothing crazy. Things flying at you is part of the 3D experience, and they do it great in this film! You actually will do some jumping and dodging. If your little ones don't get too easily scared, I think it would still be good for them. The action keeps going and the movie is entertaining the entire time! What did you think of it?

Alpenrose Egg Hunt Fifty-One derful Years!
A press release from Alpenrose Dairy.............
PORTLAND
OR – Last
year Alpenrose Dairy Easter Egg Hunt got rained out for the FIRST time in 50
years, but the Annual Easter Egg Hunt is back on for the 51st year
which will take place March 30th the Saturday before
Easter.
ALPENROSE
DAIRY—the Hunt is BACK on, rain or shine!
What can you anticipate?
Excitement is a definite as well as a colossal amount of prizes for the kids and
let’s not forget…an appearance by the world famous Easter
Bunny.
This free event is hosted by
Alpenrose on the pastoral setting of the 97-year old dairy and has become a
special treat and tradition for families and their kids since 1962. The vast
amount of acreage at the dairy makes it an idyllic setting for the hunt and
families often make this an entire day event by packing a picnic lunch.
The day’s egg-citement begins at
10:30 AM for kids ages 3-5 as they hunt for chocolate eggs, toys and other fun
treats. The hunt for kids ages 6-8 will begin at 12:00 PM. The Grand Prize for
kids will be 14 six-foot Easter bunnies. Children often end up with a bevy of
treasures from the hunt.
“Hosting the Easter Egg Hunt is
a real thrill for us and given the fact that we had to cancel due to the rains
last year this years hunt is even more special to all of us at Alpenrose,”
stated Alpenrose President, Carl Cadonau Jr. “It celebrates 51 years of what
Alpenrose loves most, giving back to the community. It’s great to see how our
event has become such a great family tradition here in Portland and we look
forward to all the kids coming out and filling their
baskets.”
Alpenrose officials are
encouraging egg-hunters to arrive early since parking is limited. Alpenrose
Dairy is located at 6149 SW
Shattuck Road in Portland .
