Announcing Free Summer Events!  Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) announces its 2024 Summer Free For All (SFFA) events and activities. All programs are free and everyone is welcome to attend! Program start dates vary, so visit the Summer Free For All webpage for complete details or call the Customer Service Center at 503-823-2525.  Free Lunch + Play  Beginning June 24, youth 18 and under can get free lunches and participate in activities for the whole family. For a list of locations, visit the SFFA Lunch + Play webpage. This summer's kick-off event is June 27, from 11:30am to 1:30pm at McCoy Park featuring roller skating with the Rose City Rollers and a performance by Ballet Papalotl. Cultural Events   Get ready for free movies, concerts, dance performances, and cultural festivals starting with the 3rd Annual East Portland Summer Arts Festival on July 6 and 7 with musical artists Allen Stone and Sheila E. Bookmark the cultural events webpage for updates. Gateway Discovery Park   Gateway Discovery Park in East Portland is a beautiful plaza where summer fun occurs daily. Drop-in activities include free lunches for kids, daytime performances, arts and crafts, and special events! See the full schedule. Free Fitness in the Park   Fitness in the Park is now free! Take fitness classes while enjoying the outdoors. Classes start June 24 in various locations. The full schedule will be available in June. In the meantime, take a look at the Fitness in the Park locations. Free Open Play Swim   Stay cool in the pool. Registration open Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

In response to current community needs, Friends of Tryon Creek is extending drop-in style day camp to next week. Join us for fun outdoor adventures, hiking, fort building, arts and crafts, plus plant identification. Registration is open for all three days: Monday November 13th - Register Here Tuesday November 14th - Register Here Wednesday November 15th - Register Here Open for youth in grades 1st - 5th, from 8:30am - 3:30pm at Tryon Creek State Natural Area.  Observe the sights and sounds of the forest while hiking tree-lined trails and crossing bridges over Tryon Creek. Practice your nature observation skills and see if you can find wintertime species like singing Song Sparrows and chattering Douglas Squirrels.   Run and play games in an open meadow, then build a fort of tree limbs and moss nearby.
